Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Sourcing Leader to lead our Large Rotary Compressors Sourcing Team. This person will be a member of our Compression Systems and Services, North America Sourcing organization. This person will support the development, implementation, and management of large rotary compressors to provide Ingersoll Rand with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality, and delivery performance. The Sourcing Manager builds and leverages strong working relationships with our engineering, operations and product management teams and key suppliers to ensure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of several sourcing engineers and sourcing specialists to achieve productivity, net working capital and supplier performance goals
  • Conduct or support negotiations and supplier selection
  • Responsible for delivering productivity through price negotiations and other continuous improvement projects
  • Support supplier segmentation, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and quarterly supplier reviews for all strategic suppliers
  • Collaborate with the NPD/i2V team on strategy for key commodities and preferred supplier programs, supporting RFQs
  • Identify gaps to AOP or stretch goals and collaboratively develop and support countermeasures and activities to close the gap and exceed targets.
  • Work to align strategies between global and regional business strategies on key commodities
  • Own and develop strategy for assigned regional business commodities
  • Monitor purchase price variances and resolves discrepancies with internal team members and suppliers
  • Work with suppliers to address significant and/or systemic issues with performance (quality, delivery, warranty, etc.) as may be required in support of plant manufacturing, purchasing and quality teams
  • Responsible for coordinating with global commodity teams, materials, operations, engineering, product management, finance, quality, and field operations to complete projects and achieve expected benefits within project timeline
  • Active participant in project gate reviews ensuring that required cross-functional resources are allocated to execute projects as outlined
  • Manage reporting of sourcing financial metrics (forecast and actual) including productivity and inflation for responsible plants or projects
  • Support the development of the Annual Operating Plan for productivity projects, targets and initiatives, as well as support standard setting process for responsible products


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible job-related experience
  • Incumbent must have well-developed negotiation skills and assessing vendors
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word, is required. Proficiency using Excel at an advanced level (use financial and logical functions; work with multiple worksheets and workbooks; edit and use macros/ import and export information) is strongly preferred.
  • Previous lean manufacturing or 6 Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt experience a plus
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data, confirming its accuracy and adequacy, and using it to drive decisions as well as present results and business cases to management
  • Oracle & SAP experience in a global environment is beneficial
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
