HDT, the world leader in the design, and manufacturing of highly engineered integrated expeditionary products and solutions for military, government, industrial, and commercial customers is looking for a dynamic, hands-on Electrical Engineer in Geneva, OH. This engineer will develop environmental control units (ECU), CBRN protection, and heater systems that will be used every day by our brave warfighters and emergency responders. The Electrical Engineer position offers a variety of engineering opportunities including testing, design, analysis, 3D modeling, 2D drafting, and prototyping.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Familiarity with analog and digital electrical circuits and components.
  • Familiarity with electrical component selection and panel wiring
  • Familiarity with communication busses such as RS232/RS422/RS485, CAN bus, USB and Ethernet preferred.
  • Develop electrical layouts based on specifications and requirement packages.
  • Schematic layout and documentation.
  • Drafting of assembly drawings for cables and wiring harnesses.
  • Interface with contract electrical board and assembly suppliers.
  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive manner.
  • Set up and conduct tests to determine the performance of environmental control units, CBRN protection, heaters, and other systems.
  • Record, analyze, interpret, and communicate test data to improve or troubleshoot system design.
  • Review, stay current with, and ensure regulatory standards are met.
  • Create/edit models and drawings using SolidWorks Electrical and AutoCAD software.
  • Create/edit BOMs using SAP software.
  • Design various electrical/electronic/mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Adhere to company revision control practices and ISO processes.

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technical field.
  • PLC and controls experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience in similar technical role with military and defense applications.
  • SolidWorks or Autocad equivalent experience.
  • SolidWorks Electrical experience required.
  • Familiarity with military environmental standard MIL-STD-810 & MIL-STD-461
  • HVAC controls and panel wiring experience is a preferred.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to problem solve with little information.
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritize work assignments, and multi-task to meet deadlines.
