This is a position with The Marley Company, a parent company which provides administrative support to the SPXEnterprisesHVAC Heating businesses (such as WM Technologies, LLC, Marley Engineered Products, LLC, Patterson-Kelley, LLC) and includes all Weil-McLainbranded products.

The Quality Inspector conducts finished product audits of boilers and kits. Performs receiving inspections. Uses a variety of precision measuring instruments. Performs diversified bench or floor inspection of a variety of standard or custom parts, products, or materials that are being produced in-house or received from vendors.

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Verifies parts pulled for shipment meet customer expectations for part number, quantity per carton/container, count (total order), packaging damage, and general workmanship.
  2. Verifies unit of measure in JDE.
  3. Audits workmanship and correct assembly per bill of material.
  4. Enters audit results into on-line QA database.
  5. Clears inventory of defective product discovered during audit.
  6. Initiates NCR rejection for defective product.
  7. Isolates defective product to hold area.
  8. Monitors inspection and tests instruments to ensure they are identified with calibration stickers and sticker due dates are current.
  9. Goal: Audits 10% of boilers produced.
  10. Obtains samples from Receipt Routing area per sampling plan.
  11. Uses Agile to obtain drawings.
  12. Uses computer to access other company servers in order to obtain test instructions.
  13. Uses various measuring and tests instruments to perform duties as required by QA instructions.
  14. Uses NCR database to reject nonconforming material.

The most qualified candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • High school diploma or GED minimum.
  • Able to use basic metrology tools such as dial caliper, micrometer, and tape measure.
  • Able to use on line systems and software such as Agile, JDE, MRB, Propel, Excel, and Word.
  • Able to interpret drawings, bill of material, work orders, packing lists, test specifications and product audit check lists and sampling plans.
  • Ability to read blue prints.
  • Excellent math and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Communicate with all levels of the organization.
