Job Description



  • Supports reliable and efficient generating station operations by maintaining all electric distribution equipment, all electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems/subsystems in a state of operational readiness.
  • Performs complex and routine tasks independently or as the lead.


  • Essential Job Tasks:
  • Operates gas turbine units as requested by dispatch and performs test runs of all turbines. Keeps complete and accurate gas turbine unit operating logs.
  • Installs, calibrates, and tests new electrical equipment or existing equipment modifications.
  • Directs fuel unloading activities to insure there are no environmental incidences.
  • Follows switching instructions at gas turbine sites as directed by System Dispatch and maintains a "g" switching certification.
  • Provides complete and accurate environmental records needed for such programs as Title V, SPCC, and SARA. Handles on-site DHEC inspections. Complies with FRP plan and performs the role of site QI.
  • Maintains a 24-hour/day availability during rotating on-call shifts. Maintains 24-hour/day availability for emergency work at night, on weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Supervises contract labor assigned to the group when required.
  • Comply with all corporate safety requirements. Wear appropriate PPE at all times. Complete all safety and OSHA training requirements on time. Adhere to clearance procedures.


  • *Will consider Technician A or B

    Technician A

  • High School Diploma/GED + 5 years experience.
  • A thorough knowledge of operations, electrical theory, and repair techniques of complex electronic and pneumatic control equipment is required.
  • Must be able to enter confined spaces, work at elevations above and below grade, accommodate overtime and on-call status.


  • Compensation Information
    $35.45 - $44.30 (min.-mid.)

    Technician B
  • High School Diploma/GED + 2 years experience.
  • A thorough knowledge of operations, electrical theory, and repair techniques of complex electronic and pneumatic control equipment is required.
  • Must be able to enter confined spaces, work at elevations above and below grade, accommodate overtime and on-call status.


  • Compensation Information
    $25.95 - $32.40 (min.-mid.)
