Develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes/methods/strategies in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Priorities include process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training. Lead Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement teams for manufacturing and support processes. Goal oriented, data driven, with a strong sense of urgency.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide enthusiastic leadership and guidance to the site Continuous Improvement program.
  • Work with Project Engineer Manager to define and scope improvement opportunities.
  • Facilitate internal and external identification, design, testing and implementation of process improvements to meet TIMET production, safety, cost improvement and environmental goals.
  • In conjunction with the operations and technical departments, identify opportunities for quality improvement with customers.
  • Train & lead plant personnel in the Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to influence, gain commitment, and leverage best practices across all levels of the organization.
  • Utilize the Lean Six Sigma methodology for problem solving and process improvements.
  • Plan and Lead Waste Elimination (Lean) activities.
  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement teams and Kaizen events.
  • Implement visual factory including 5S, standardized work, and performance metric tracking.
  • Utilize data to drive improvements and implement control plans to sustain those improvements.
  • Ability to:
  • Organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Effectively communicate and interact with all organization levels.
  • Work in a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week manufacturing environment.
  • Accept weekend and holiday assignments as required
  • Work overtime as needed, work with back-shift personnel, solve problems, and respond to emergencies.

  • Conduct all operations in a safe and clean environment. Enforce all safety rules and regulations and work proactively to minimize accidents.
  • Conduct all operations in a professional and businesslike manner.
  • Maintain a program of professional growth through selected seminars, courses, online resources, trade magazines, books, journals, etc.

Education and Experience:

  • Four-year college or university degree.
  • Computer Proficiency, MS Office is required.
  • Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated ability to motivate others and achieve results.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using Lean Tools - Value Stream Mapping, Visual Factory/5S, Total Productive Maintenance, etc.
  • Experience with FMEA and Root Cause Analysis techniques.
  • SPC and Six Sigma experience desired.
  • Metals experience would be very helpful (desired - not required)
  • Must be willing to travel (typically less than 10%)
