Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for identifying, cultivating and recruiting potential applicants for admission as traditional first-time freshmen, transfers, and nontraditional adults; collecting and evaluating credentials; making decisions regarding individuals' candidacies for admission to UNCG; and positively affecting admitted students decisions to matriculate to UNCG.

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions serves as a major public relations arm of the institution and helps to shape a positive image of the University through its interaction with parents, prospective students, high school and college counselors, alumni and other external agencies.

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions communicates to the public the academic, programmatic and developmental offerings that UNCG provides for its students.

Through its activities, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions supports the University's enrollment goals as they pertain to new traditional and nontraditional undergraduates.
Position Summary
The Assistant Director for Campus Visit Experiences will manage daily visitation opportunities and group visitation in the Office of Admissions. The Assistant Director for Campus Visit Experiences will lead the hiring, training, and supervision of 30-40 student tour guides. The position may also assist with front desk customer service training, guidance, or assessment. The position is responsible for planning and implementing major on-campus visitor events including open houses, admitted student days, counselor events, honors events, and departmental/programmatic events. The position may also design and implement virtual engagement opportunities for prospective students and/or families. The position also has responsibility for admissions decisions, applicant file review, and outreach to applicants and admitted students. The Assistant Director for Campus Visit Experiences may help supervise departmental interns or graduate assistants.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 2 years of college admissions experience, demonstrated strategic planning experience, outstanding public speaking skills, excellent computer skills, and a valid driver's license are required for this position. The position requires the ability to make independent decisions when interpreting policy and to make research based decisions regarding the potential for success of specific recruitment initiatives. Experience related directly to the recruitment of undergraduates is required for the Assistant Director for Campus Visit Experiences role.
