Compensation: $42,000.00 - $48,000.00 + Sign-on Bonus

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Perform basic quantitative and qualitative analyses of pharmaceutical components, in-process material, finished good product, and/or stability product. Depending on the department to which the incumbent reports some of the functions listed may not be applicable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform basic analytical laboratory tests (such as potency, purity, uniformity, dissolution, moisture, etc.) in accordance with approved methodology and cGMP, FDA, and DEA regulations, including: Set-up, adjustment, calibration and operation of laboratory equipment and instruments, as well as any associated software. Preparation of solutions, solvents, and mobile phases. Accurate preparation, collection, weighing, and analysis of samples and reference standards, and determination of conformance of results to approved specification limits. Accurate and timely documentation of all procedures, calculations, and results. Complete assignments in a timely manner, thereby promoting team achievement of departmental attainment goals. Support and identify efficiency and throughput improvements. Support and identify continuous quality improvement initiatives. Assist departmental management/supervision in the execution/implementation of projects, as requested.

Maintain safety and cleanliness of work area. Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

Candidate may also have to assist in re-bulking efforts when necessary

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education required/ preferred:

Associates Degree in Chemistry or equivalent

Experience:

A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required in the absence of an accredited degree or its equivalent.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

Perform basic functions of arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure.

Perform reading, writing and speaking at a basic level.

Basic computer skills including Word, Excel and database software.

Ability to understand and apply cGMP, SOP, and DEA regulations.

Skills/Competencies:

Ability to deal with and solve problems of moderate difficulty.

Self-motivated, demonstrates initiative, able to make good decisions under pressure.

Possess sufficient interpersonal skills to be able to function as part of a team.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to learn and apply technical concepts rapidly.

Other Skills:

Comply with company policies and procedures.

Follow safe working practices in the execution of assigned duties.

Participate in general site and departmental safety initiatives.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:

This position reports to a Department Team Leader/Scientific Services Chemist I. Incumbent works independently on standard duties. Supervision involves instruction and oversight of work performance. Errors can be easily and quickly detected within the immediate work unit.

Contacts are primarily within the immediate work unit. There is no responsibility for this position to supervise others.

PHYSICAL/VISUAL ACTIVITIES OR DEMANDS:

Sedentary Work - exert a negligible amount of force continuously and up to 20 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects. The job involves sitting, walking, and standing, reaching, talking and hearing. The job involves the ability to judge distance and space relationships, identify and distinguish colors and bring objects within 20 inches into clear focus. Flow of work and character of duties involves focused mental and visual attention much or all of the time.
