The Vice President, Integrated Evidence Practice (IEP), Consulting will lead a P&L business that designs, develops, and operationalizes integrated evidence solutions. Integrated Evidence generation combines a myriad of health sciences to optimize value creation for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device and diagnostic companies. It spans multiple functions, life cycle stages, research methods and geographies. Regulators and payers' demand for evidence of a product's benefits, risks, and value are converging, precipitating a need to integrate strategic planning for these and other stakeholders including patients, providers, and policy-makers.

Increasingly real-world evidence (RWE) is integrated early into clinical development to improve the probability of technical and regulatory success, market access, and optimal commercialization. Evidence-based medicine practices are amplifying the need for life sciences companies to build a dynamic and sustainable evidence base to support their products throughout it's lifecycle.

This individual will lead and inspirea team of consultants as well as catalyze an internal community of scientific experts including physicians, regulatory scientists, health economists, market access strategists, epidemiologists, biostatisticians, and digital health and AI experts. The Vice President of Integrated Evidence will be responsible for identifying growth opportunitiesand driving business development efforts forward through Consulting's go-to-market strategy and in concert with Fortrea's Commercial organization.

As aConsulting leader, your role involvesstrategically guiding and managingthe IEP within the Fortrea consulting organization while playing a pivotal role in designing novel solutions ranging from integrated evidence planning in pre-clinical development to late-phase RWE Platforms to enable evidence-based value demonstration. Collaborating with colleagues across Consulting and the Fortrea enterprise to deliver science-based strategy and integrated evidence solutions will be critical to your success.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Develop business, including repeat client work and new customer/client work; work with internal divisions to identify and pursue relevant opportunities
  • Lead consulting and research teams, meet budget and timeline requirements and quality standards, and innovate and advance service offerings to respond to market and client needs; ensure that findings and recommendations meet client requirements
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in evidence-based medicine methodologies
  • Participate in leadership team meetings and initiatives as required
  • Identify and interface with regional and national RWE and EBM experts and organizations, profile data sources and organizations who conduct real world outcomes research as they relate to Fortrea's products and therapeutic areas
  • Manage client relationships and provide executive oversight of engagements
  • Manage project leaders and teams who are responsible for project execution
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their evidence needs and challenges
  • Provide expert guidance on study design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation
  • Develop and mentor team members; participate in hiring and manage performance
  • Effectively manage internationally remote and culturally diverse teammates
  • Develop and communicate integrated evidence of varying levels of complexity to formulary and healthcare policy decision-makers and their influencers in compliance with company policies
  • Increase the knowledge and awareness of the value propositions of Fortrea's marketed products allowing key healthcare and formulary professionals to make informed therapeutic decisions on behalf of patients and their providers
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and disseminating Standard Operating Procedures and supporting company processes; maintain quality standards
  • Liaise with Regulatory, Market Access, HEOR & RWE strategy leads, and collaborate on study design and analysis
  • Closely monitor national and regional changes in healthcare policy and payer environment, assess competitive data/gaps and communicate these back to the organization, to help Fortrea stay competitive and on the cutting edge of EBM issues and HEOR data for purposes of strategic and commercial planning
  • Meet financial objectives per group goals
  • All other duties as needed or assigned

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D., M.S., or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g., epidemiology, health economics, biostatistics, engineering)
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with a master's degree (or 7 years with a doctoral degree) with extensive experience in RWE research, preferably in a consulting or pharmaceutical setting
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills with an ability to present technical information clearly and simply executive level audience
  • Proven expertise in scientific and technical aspects of discipline and in research studies; experience in consulting environment; strong skills in a market access/HEOR-related discipline
  • Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills; ability to analyze and understand complex client issues and develop and execute on solutions
  • Extensive experience and strong skills leading teams; ability to challenge conventional thinking to solve client issues and develop solutions
  • Strong overall written and interpersonal communication skills with an ability to present technical information clearly and simply
  • Ability to establish, maintain, and expand client relationships long-term
  • Team player

Experience (Minimum Required):

  • 12 years of experience within the field; and a minimum of 10 years' experience in a consulting environment
  • 10 years' experience in a leadership role
  • Broad knowledge of clinical development and the EBM / RWE space

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • PhD or advanced degree preferred, scientific or technical knowledge and drug development know-how in line with client expectations
  • Therapeutic expertise in oncology and neurology
  • Able to innovate and drive development of creative solutions to meet client's needs
  • Knowledge of regulations related to communication and dissemination of information and of the current compliance landscape

Pay Range: $275,000 - $320,000 (The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity)

Benefits: All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. Regular, full-time or part-time employees working 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(K), ESPP, Paid time off (PTO) or Flexible time off (FTO), and Company bonus where applicable.
