Position Summary | This position will serve the Department of Radiology in support of the Graduate Medical Education component of our mission. This position will be the primary Graduate Medical Education Program Coordinator for the Integrated Interventional Radiology and Independent Interventional Radiology Residency programs and serve as the secondary coordinator for the Diagnostic Residency program. This position will satisfy the ACGME mandated program coordinator requirement of 0.9 FTE to support both Interventional Radiology programs. Position will engage with the Graduate Medical Education office within UNC Health, other university departments, and organizations to manage, administer and direct all areas of the education program. Position will manage expenditures within the education budget and as well advise in the areas of policy administration that will support the residency program. Position will also maintain a close working relationship with the DIO for graduate medical education and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). This position will also be dedicated to assisting the Program Director and Associate Program Director with managerial, educational, and operational activities of the residency program. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements | Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | * Exceptional organizational skills and ability to independently prioritize work initiative. * Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. * Exercise good judgement, discretion, and diplomacy in communications through Exceptional interpersonal, written and, verbal communication skills * Ability to adapt and adjust to new or changing situations. * Ability to handle sensitive information with absolute confidentiality. * Ability to make decisions independently or to escalate issues as needed. * Demonstrated skills of service oriented and team focused * Working knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams * Working knowledge of ERAS and Med Hub. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | * Ability to multi-task and possess a high level of organizational skills with changing priorities and experience implementing systems preferred. * Preference will be given to applicants who have university student services experience OR experience managing a residency program. * Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office. * Experience in public relations or customer service is preferred, as this position frequently serves as a 'face of the department' during orientation and recruitment seasons. |
