Our Biology Group is looking for a Director, Structural Biology. This position will be responsible for the scientific and strategic direction of Incyte Structural Biology Group. The Director, Structural Biology will support both small molecules and biologics pipelines combining internal capabilities with external opportunities. He/ She will be responsible for maintaining the group current with advances in the field.

Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)

  • Direct the day-to-day activities and long-term development of the Structural Biology Group.
  • Implement and develop processes to support of Chemistry and Biochemistry on hit identification and Hit to Lead SAR activities.
  • Support Antibody engineering and characterization.
  • Work with multiple CROs and internal resources across the organization to accomplish program objectives.
  • Be a member of the Protein Science and Technology leadership team.
  • Contribute to new target proposal and support their evaluation and validation.
  • Recruit and manage the personnel of the Structural Biology Group.
  • Identify and introduce appropriated strategies to keep the group current with state-of-the-art practices.

Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)

  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry, structural biology with demonstrated managerial and scientific leadership on X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM.
  • Demonstrated experience on driving structure-based drug design to support MOA and target validation studies.
  • Experience on integrating Cryo-EM workflows to support small molecule and biologics discovery/optimization.
  • Able to work in a highly collaborative multicultural team environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, self-driven, creative, and entrepreneurial.
