Position Summary | The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the Department of Mathematics Chair, faculty, staff, and students. The incumbent will monitor, and reconcile the Mathematics, and Title III budgets. Order office supplies, maintain historical documentation of budget and financial issues, and process transactions through the university Requisition system and Banner database. The incumbent will maintain the Chair's Calendar; schedule appointments, locate, and assemble information for various reports and meetings. The incumbent will resolve routine problems relating to office management and communicate with faculty, students, and staff to complete tasks. The incumbent will be exposed to confidential information and materials and must possess the ability to keep these matters strictly confidential. Other responsibilities will include applying knowledge of programs for problem-solving and responding to questions and inquiries. The incumbent will compose letters, memos, and emails to faculty, staff, and other parties, using correct grammar, organization, and structure; and will keep accurate minutes of monthly department faculty meetings. The incumbent will handle all department's incoming and outgoing mail and packages, and run department errands as required. |
