Primary Purpose of Position | Clinical/Internship Coordinator for Student Success - This person is responsibility for coordinating and implementing early-field experiences and clinical practice internships for students seeking licensure in the College of Education's educator preparation program (EPP). The coordinator will develop and maintain partnerships via current memorandums of understanding (MOU) with various school districts to enhance students' placement opportunities. The coordinator will work with students and faculty to coordinate field and clinical practice experiences, and coordinate orientations and professional development experiences for students and candidates, as well as the partner schools and communities (identity partner schools, clinical educators, etc.). Job duties include but are not limited to: * Serve as the point of contact for local school and community administrators, teachers, university faculty, staff, and students for the clinical practice I & II (student teaching) and early-field based education courses and experiences. * Solicit and coordinate field experience and internship placements for undergraduate and MAT students and candidates. Secure placements for students in CEPP approved field-based education courses including student teaching. Monitor and match students' requirements, preferences, and availability with actual opportunities in surrounding schools and community sites. * Collaborate with faculty to determine the nature of the field experiences or internship placements that students require to meet course goals. * Actively engage in outreach to sustain and develop new partnerships opportunities for clinical and field placement opportunities that reflect student and faculty course goals. * Conduct pre-placement meetings and orientations for students, candidates, teachers (clinical educators) and course instructors / university supervisors. * Facilitate and participate in the evaluation of student participation, performance and work relating to field placements. * Maintain regular contact with supervisors of field experiences and trouble-shooting administrative and/or placement issues with students and faculty * Maintain student fieldwork and academic files and records associated with fieldwork. * Maintain a database for tracking placements, including fieldwork sites, site supervisors and clinical teachers; ensuring diverse experiences and ensuring that candidates meet number of required hours. * Initiate, track, review, and monitor status of placements and all associated paperwork including required clearances. * Participate in ongoing analysis of clinical and field experiences and procedures. * Work within the Center of Student Success and Engagement to promote service-learning opportunities in educational and school settings. * Work with department chair and department faculty to ensure currency and accuracy in program handbooks on an annual basis and assist with revisions and updates. |

Primary Function of Organizational Unit | The College of Education's Center for Student Success and Engagement mission is to support enrolled and prospective students in meeting program requirements and individual goals by linking them to the available university, school and community resources. The Center of Student Success and Engagement provides services and support to all students and candidates in the College of Education. All education majors interface with the Center through early field experience, student teaching, MAT internships, study abroad opportunities to set up TaskStream accounts for EPP Admission, Early Field Experiences, Clinical Practice 1 & 2, and recommendations for licensure and other in-state and out-of-state license requirements. |
