About the Job:

The position of Sales Account Executive, Chemical Bulk Commodities, will have primary responsibility of achieving assigned revenue goals and executing Odyssey Logistics commercial strategy plan. The Sales Account Executive, Chemical Bulk Commodities, is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, driving sales activities, and delivering successful sales results, while becoming a trusted advisor and consultative partner to client.

The Sales Executive role will be part of a successful team, dedicated to building and protecting long-term relationships as well as identifying new business opportunities within the logistics sector.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Sell and provide solutions within Odyssey chemical bulk solutions, Intermodal & Tank Truck services and solutions.
  • Successfully penetrate new accounts while developing new business from existing customer base.
  • Meet assigned net revenue targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts and new logos.
  • Grow and develop a qualified sales pipeline.
  • Operate in a value-creation/consultative capacity and position logistics solutions around Odyssey's chemical services and solutions capabilities.
  • Facilitate relationships between senior management levels of clients and key personnel in Odyssey.
  • Coordinates the involvement of key Odyssey personnel in order to meet account performance objectives and customer expectations.
  • Ensure familiarity with all of Odyssey's solutions and industry trends to effectively identify opportunities that arise during client meetings up through closing, distinguish Odyssey from its competition and deliver needs-based solutions.
  • Demonstrate understanding of contract, product & pricing parameters in order to successfully negotiate final terms with client, soliciting assistance from Sales Operations, Finance, Procurement and Management to address potential contract changes and associated risks.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings that meet Odyssey's standards.
  • Day-to-day account management may be required.
  • Expedite all rate and service opportunities to administrative person at each BU for a prompt follow up with the client.

Required:

  • BA/BS Degree in technical field.
  • 3+ Years of logistics sales and relationship management experience with large public or private sector chemical manufacturing organizations.
  • Closer
  • Basic understanding of hazmat chemical transportation, tank truck & intermodal equipment and services.
  • Basic understanding of the chemical bulk distribution industry trends and issues.
  • Knowledge of sales cycle, from initial prospecting through closing.
  • Ability to prepare financial proposals for new business opportunities.
  • Ability to identify issues/roadblocks and be proactive in development of solutions.
  • Experience in completing and coordinating RFPs with internal stakeholders.
  • Basic understanding of contract negotiations with both clients and legal counsel.
  • 3+ years' experience proven major account sales experience in chemical logistics services.
  • Strong relationship management skills, with proven results in generating business growth.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication & presentation capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com, PowerPoint, Excel and other MS Office products are essential for this position.
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
