Please visit to view the job descriptions and a list of available positions: https://crw.ecu.edu/about-us/join-the-crw-team/job-descriptions/ Fitness Attendant duties include: *Provide world-class member experience to include, but not limited to, basic exercise education, equipment orientations, responding to member questions, equipment cleaning & sanitation, and emergency & risk management. *Exhibit an understanding and knowledge of ECU and Campus Recreation and Wellness (CRW) programs, operations, organizational structure, and standard policies and procedures. *Identify fitness equipment and understand how to properly use, maintain, and clean them in accordance with manufactural standards and facility protocols. *Understand and utilize any software applications and programs necessary in accordance with facility protocols and operations. * Apply risk-management strategies in accordance with recognized standards, guidelines, laws, and regulations to protect the fitness attendant, organization, and members & guests to minimize liability. *Minimize risk of injury for students/members by identifying and reporting potential hazards in accordance with recommended industry and facility protocols. *Enhance competency by using credible resources, attending in-services, and focusing on professional development. *Use appropriate verbal and nonverbal communication techniques when interacting with or answering questions from members and guests. *Adapt and accommodate a large spectrum of individual personality styles and differences in backgrounds when building rapport and providing assistance to members and guests. *Solicit and incorporate feedback from a variety of sources (e.g., participants, peers, supervisors, self) to enhance professionalism and future experiences. *Apply knowledge in exercise science to assist members and guests while exercising in the fitness floor. *Other duties as assigned. |
Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.) | * Must be a current ECU student in good academic standing. * Valid CPR/AED and First Aid certification and blood-borne pathogens training within 60 days of hire. * Demonstrated competency to lift and manage a minimum of 60 pounds. Heavy lifting is required. * Ability to work independently and as a team for a minimum of 8-12 hours per week. * Flexible work availability required included but not limited to the early morning, nights, weekends, holidays, and ECU sanctioned breaks. |
