The innovative products we make, drive the world's largest ships, connect remote renewable power sources with consumers, and automate complex industrial processes. The role reports to the Production Supervisor and is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. As a Direct Flex 2nd Shift, you will be responsible for providing support to four major areas of the plant. It's a support role to help manage workload in certain areas, provide backup assistance and vacation management. Employees will be trained in all four areas for 90 days at a time and then rotate quarterly to different areas to keep skills enhanced to provide the most assistance. The three areas to provide reserve support is: * Assembly * Test * Paint * Molding As a Direct Flexible position in Assembly: Under the supervision of the shift supervisor, perform assembly operations on products as required, doing repetitive production line methods standardized to give repeated results. As a Direct Flexible position in Test: Perform test, setup, assembly, and disassembly of product at targeted stations for efficiency and effectiveness levels. As a Direct Flexible position in Paint: Prepares metal and plastic products used in conductive and insulation molding including grit blasting, applying adhesives, and running the DE flash machine. As a Direct Flexible position in Molding: Includes set-up, operation, troubleshooting and shut-down of mold injection machines within established guidelines. Primary work involves final product molding, component part molding and jacket molding.

Your responsibilities

  • Safety:
  • Understands and follows plant safety policies and procedures.
  • Avoids or prevents hazardous conditions from developing.
  • Wears required protective equipment.
  • Dresses and conducts self in a safe manner.
  • Keeps work area clean and orderly and maintains Lean 5S.
  • Participates in plant safety objectives and programs.
  • Assembly Reserve:
  • Will be actively involved in all aspects of manufacturing.
  • Develops improvements in areas of cost, quality, process, safety, scrap reduction and service to internal and external customers.
  • Makes suggestions to eliminate waste and continually improve processes.
  • Tester Reserve:
  • Performs duties as assigned following all instructions according to standard operating procedures.
  • Perform test, setup, assembly, and disassembly of product at targeted stations for efficiency and effectiveness levels.
  • All shop floor documentation including travel tags, quality, and training records will be accurate, legible and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Paint Reserve:
  • Perform tasks involving the preparation of products for conductive and insulation molding - assembly of components, spray painting, hand painting, grit blasting and deflash.
  • Using the operating route sheet and work instructions, identifies materials and tools necessary to perform operation.
  • Completes documentation including travel tags, quality, and training records will be accurate, legible and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Sustain production, maintain all tools, machinery and facilities in the work area.
  • Coordinate production with other employees to maintain quality standards and constant product flow.
  • Molding Reserve:
  • Performs duties as assigned following all job instructions (JI) according to standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Operates molding machines at targeted efficiency and effectiveness levels.
  • Performs trimming and runs inserts, jackets and insulation per JI.
  • Must submit floor documentation, production records, travel tags and training. Documentation will be accurate, legible and timely submitted.
Your background

  • High School Diploma, GED required
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Two years of experience in Assembly, Testing, Painting and Molding in manufacturing environment.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of ownership to assigned tasks.
  • Working knowledge of components, part numbers and process involved in manufacturing.
  • Must be able to:
  • Bend, twist & turn in a safe manner.
  • Lift up to 40 Pounds.
  • Stand for long periods to analyze and repair machines.
  • Good hand dexterity.
  • Ability to speak and write in clear English communications.
  • Strong math skills.
  • PC knowledge including Microsoft Office, Excel and email.
  • Manufacturing tracking software systems (KBM) or equivalent.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
