Working as an Associate Project Engineer, Automation, you will be the authority and support person for various engineering projects in Automation and Electrification Service, Process Automation Energy Industries (PAEN), providing technical details, costs and deliverables for sales proposals based out of Cleveland, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in designing engineering solutions, including preparing drawings, calculations, bills of materials, engineering instructions and processes. In this role, you will create or modify pre engineered designs for equipment, systems or installations by applying standard design concepts.

Your responsibilities

  • Contribute to design reviews and verification, and implementing modifications as required
  • Follow work plans and cost estimates for Distributed Control Systems and ensure the provision of quality deliverables on time and on budget
  • Assist with risk and opportunity assessments and report any issues for resolution
  • Work with the supply chain during the preparation of RFQs (Request for quotations) and proposals
  • Provide assistance and leadership to the entry level drafting and document control team
  • Assist in the preparation of specific aspects of design assignments for project meetings
Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Science or other engineering degree and up
  • 2 years of experience in design and execution, working as an Engineer with Distributed Control Systems preferred
  • Sound knowledge engineering techniques, processes and tools
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Initiative, creativity and great attention to detail
  • A collaborative, solution focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Candidates must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Reimbursement for relocation is not available
  • Up to 20 percent domestic travel, international possibly
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately up to 20 percent of the time
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
