Overview

RTI International's survey-focused practice area has over 60 years of experience delivering excellence to our clients. Comprised of 275 research professionals, we collect complex behavioral and attitudinal data in many settings. Currently, we have an opening for a mid-career Survey Scientist for Experience of Care Surveys. The successful individual will lead complex project tasks or small projects focused on patient experience of care and contribute significantly to the technical and budgetary aspects of proposals and business development. Successful hires will possess a desire to grow into a leadership role in the survey industry. Preference will be given to candidates with experience on projects in any of the following areas: experience of care, beneficiary experience, provider experience, or Consumer Assessment of Health Providers and Systems (CAHPS).


Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

  • Developing study protocols for all modes of data collection; medium to highly complex study designs
  • Working with task leaders and project managers to implement and monitor research designs
  • Testing survey instruments or refining questionnaire specifications
  • Assisting with oversight, training, and technical assistance to data collection vendors, including travel to vendor locations
  • Performing quality control activities on sample data and collected data to be publicly reported
  • Assisting with client reports, training presentations, and deliverables
  • Providing technical assistance to health care organizations and data collection vendors
  • Assisting with data collection manuals, training materials, progress reports, and other regular reports
  • Managing project schedules
  • Developing outreach materials for health care organizations and providers
  • Researching business development opportunities
  • Preparing budgets and technical sections of proposals

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in social sciences such as sociology, epidemiology, psychology, or political science and 6 or more years of experience with survey research or MA/MS in social sciences and 3 years of experience with survey research.
  • Strong verbal and writing skills
  • Research-oriented background, data analytical skills, and a proven track record for identifying and solving problems, along with strong communication skills
  • To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require now, or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below. Our pay ranges represent national averages and may vary by location as a geographic differential may be applied to some locations within the United States.
