Primary Responsibilities

HDR is looking for an Equipment Planner to join our award-winning Healthcare Architecture practice. In the role of Equipment Planner, we'll count on you to:

  • Work with a Senior Planner and the design team, including architects, engineers and other consultants, to fully incorporate the equipment needs of the project
  • Provide medical equipment solutions to clients in a variety of locations and throughout all areas of medical treatment and processes
  • Participate in user group meetings to assist in and document decision making
  • Discuss advantages and disadvantages of specific types of medical equipment, and help clients select equipment for their individual healthcare environments, including the inventory, assessment and incorporation of existing equipment
  • Prepare reports, schedules, budgets and location drawings/documents for the planned equipment
  • Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of medical equipment planning experience
  • Individuals with a clinical background involving Nursing, Purchasing, Biomedical Engineering or other Clinical specialties will be given strong consideration
  • Significant understanding of medical equipment and the hospital environment
  • Ability to interact professionally with healthcare clients and design team members
  • Knowledge of current Medical Equipment technology
  • Very strong communication skills
  • Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, Access)
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired
  • Local candidates are preferred
