STS Technical Services is hiring a Liaison Systems Engineerin Greensboro, North Carolina.

Job Description:

The Liaison Systems Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and functionality of aircraft systems by resolving complex engineering issues, reviewing defects, determining root causes, and providing acceptable dispositions for discrepant conditions. They collaborate closely with core engineering teams and technicians to implement effective solutions and maintain the integrity of mechanical systems throughout the manufacturing and assembly process.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Resolve complex engineering problems related to aircraft build processes.
  • Review defects, establish root causes, and provide acceptable dispositions for discrepant conditions using engineering principles.
  • Review engineering documentation to facilitate technicians' understanding and continuity of work.
  • Develop and implement revised or new processes utilizing Six Sigma/Lean principles.
  • Determine and document non-conformance of commercial mechanical systems encountered during manufacturing and production.
  • Document repair procedures for discrepancies using engineering principles.
  • Assist in identifying whether defects are engineering-related or workmanship issues and document findings.
  • Ensure proposed repairs maintain blueprint design integrity or do not compromise system functionality.
  • Provide feedback, guidance, and support to core engineering regarding recurring engineering issues or component failures.
  • Assist core engineering in developing closure plans for recurring engineering issues.
  • Incorporate design changes using CATIA V5 software.
Education, Work Experience, Certification, and/or Licensure:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering.
  • Experience with Flight Control, Landing Gear, Hydraulic, Environmental, Fuel, and Powerplant Systems preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (experience with SAP is a plus).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Extensive experience with Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of Mechanical Systems concepts, CATIA V5, and Standard Repair Methods (SRM).
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in environments with equipment noise, heat, cold, dust, and odors.
  • Capability to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, and perform other physical tasks as required.
  • Adherence to safety regulations and ability to comprehend and follow safety instructions.
  • Normal auditory, visual, and speech abilities required for job duties.
  • Capacity to lift, carry, or move items up to 50lbs or more with assistance technology.
