Segra is searching for a dynamic and experienced IP Administrator to work within our Charlotte, NC market.

The Segra IP administrator will work with Segra internal systems and teams to maintain and document Segra IP resources. IPs are maintained through the following internal systems: IP Control, Yoda, RADb, Arin and Netcracker. This position works directly with our internal teams and customers to change Whois information, route descriptions for ARIN, both routes and ASNs for RADb. Will be making direct IP assignments from our systems for customer services. IP justification application approval of subnets per ARIN and Segra rule sets. Find available IP space and reclaim for assignment by using network tools and databases. Complete disconnect tasks in our workflow systems (WFM & Service Now) to retrieve previously used IPs for new assignments. The IP Administrator is the main point of contact for Segra regarding IP-related issues and legal requests. Also manages any changes in ownership or validation in RADB and ARIN. Maintains SLAs and standards required by Segra and ARIN for IP allocation. Subject matter expert for IPs and representative in meetings, calls, and emails regarding our currently allocated resources.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with networking or information technology.
  • This position requires thorough knowledge of IPv4 & IPv6 routing and subnetting.
  • Understanding of BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) peering, static routes, and routing protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 or more years of experience in Telecommunications.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Competency or previous work with DMCA compliance.
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Computer Science or other technical field or equivalent combination of work experience.
  • Network related certifications (ex CCNA/MCSE) a plus but not required.
  • The ability to trace IP routes and paths through a carrier class network.
  • Understanding of BGP peering, static routes, routing protocols (EIGRP/ISIS/OSPF etc.) as well as experience with BGP.
  • Experience with any of the following is highly desirable: Service provider routing and switching technologies, IP routing equipment from Cisco, Juniper, and/or Alcatel-Lucent.
  • Familiarity with online IP database usage and rulesets for the following: ARIN, RADb, WHOIS.
  • Ability to locate and identify IP ownership using Segra's internal network.
  • Understanding of network topologies.
  • Adhere to standards and follow through with internal/external processes.
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment to expedite workload while maintaining our IP resources on a day-to-day basis.
  • Must be detail-oriented with good organization and time management skills, especially in dealing with deadlines.
