Organizational Unit Overview | The Office of Student Services is part of the College of Nursing t: Division. Student Services is responsible for the oversight of marketing and recruitment for both Undergraduate and Graduate programs, admission of the pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing cohort, advisement of intended and declared nursing majors, student success programs for intended nursing majors, registration, nursing compliance, monitoring adherence to the guidelines and polices outlined in the College of Nursing Student Handbook, academic progression in all programs, and graduation services in the college. This office serves approximately 1100 intended nursing majors and 1325 Undergraduate and Graduate students enrolled in the degree programs offered in the College as well as numerous prospective students. |
Job Duties | This position requires high level of communication skills to work with prospective Undergraduate and Graduate students to inform them of the educational opportunities offered at the College of Nursing and the admission requirements for all program areas. In addition, this position will be responsible for assisting and managing current students with plans of study and reports using Degree Works and other enrollment management software . This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service and utilizes a variety of communication techniques. Employees are required to exercise confidentiality in accordance with policy and applicable state, federal and local laws such as Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA). Leadership/Program Project Administration: This position provides leadership in assisting with data on recruitment activities for the College of Nursing. In addition this position will r provide reports for enrollment management processes, course planning and registration data by processing plans of study for the Graduate Programs, Concentration and Specialty Areas. This position will use a variety software applications which will be used to manage the tasks outlined previously. . It is necessary for this position to work collaboratively with students, faculty and staff within the university as well as community partners. Consulting with senior-level administrators will be necessary to discuss updates, changes and practices with recruitment trends and enrollment data. Communication and Marketing: A high level of communication skills are necessary for this position. The person in this position will be required to work with internal and external constituents in order to meet the requirements of the position. This person will navigate complex and sensitive confidential situations on a regular basis. Information Analysis & Decision Making/ Consultation: This position will be required to provide reports regarding students' data on a regular basis. This information will need to be shared with appropriate administrators and follow up with students as necessary. Professional Knowledge: This position will be required to maintain knowledge of program, policies, procedures, technology and best practices in all areas related to the College of Nursing. |
