  • 2-2-3 shift schedule (on 2, off 2, on 3, off 2, on 2, off 3, repeating) of 6PM to 6:30AM.

You will be able to lead and contribute in meaningful ways at our new greenfield McCalla, AL facility, where we will produce the very popular Uncrustables sandwiches and are also looking forward to development of new and innovative products. The Warehouse Supervisor will work in our plant-attached distribution center and will be responsible for supervising & managing work for all personnel on shift, keeping a safety-first mindset at all times. The supervisor will also be responsible for managing inbound and outbound activities against defined KPIs, coaching their team on work-related activities while continuing to help them grow professionally, and collaborate cross-functionally with the production team.

In this role you will:

  • Engage and motivate team to maintain product safety, sanitation & quality, and legality for storage and distribution of product in accordance with the company's quality policies and standards.

  • Drive high-performance work culture by engaging with team members on the floor and coaching to problem solve, make decisions, and become self-reliant.

  • Ensure Key Performance Indicators are established for teams, oversee progress via the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and other company tools, and indicate where gaps exist to proactively create performance plans to maximize productivity across the shift.

  • Supervise shipping and receiving office, to include: carrier scheduling, daily reporting, yard moves, driver interaction and overall operational flow of the office.

  • Direct the loading and unloading of trailers, selection of orders, inventory accuracy, safety requirements, and efficiency of the shift.

  • Translate complex information into easily understandable messages to facilitate clear communication and expectations across all levels of the organization.

  • To be observant to detect and report potential equipment failures to avoid damage to or loss of equipment.

  • To be observant and willing to suggest changes or modifications to equipment or processes to help improve efficiencies.

  • Assure compliance to all quality standards: SOP, GMP and BRC requirements.

  • Understand company policies and procedures and apply consistently across your team; administer any necessary discipline.

  • Provide performance-based feedback to technicians and coordinators, included annual Performance Appraisals.

  • Embrace change and build team buy-in to new initiatives and improvements.

  • Responsible for safety, facility security, & sanitation on shift.

  • Responsible for putting product on hold and releasing from hold during shift in conjunction with plant's Quality team.

  • Coordinate and aid in facilitating the training plan for your shift to ensure everyone has the resources to do their job effectively.

  • Responsible for managing held inventory, supporting inventory status migration, and liquidation inventory.

  • Responsible for instilling the Smucker culture through the Basic Beliefs and Our Commitment to Each Other.

  • Comply with J.M. Smucker Company Quality standards relating to:

    • Safety & Security

    • Sanitation & Pest Control

    • Maintenance

    • Training & Qualification Program

    • Documentation Handling & Retention

    • SOP Creation & Management

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

  • 2 years of Logistics, Supply Chain, or Distribution Center experience is required.

  • Ability to work in a temperature-controlled freezer environment required.

  • Capable of demonstrating and lifting objects of up to 50 pounds required.

  • Prior people management experience in a high-performance work environment preferred.

  • Blue Yonder Warehouse Management System experience preferred.

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a large organization to deliver business needs.

  • Ability to effectively engage with team members.

  • Decisive, proactive, and strategic in decision making through analytics and data-driven resources.

  • Strong analytical troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause identification skills.

  • Effectively works across organization boundaries and with diverse teams.

  • Self-motivated, organized, and adaptable to change.

  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule that most effectively supports the organization.

  • Willingness to work off-shifts or weekends as needed.
