Essential Job Duties | Teach MAE 253: Aerodynamics Lab I (subsonic), MAE 352: Aerodynamics Lab II (supersonic), MAE 451: Aerodynamics Lab III, MAE 372: Aerospace Structure Lab, and MAE 308: Fluid Mechanics. Develop instructional materials for classes and conduct lab orientation sessions for Teaching Assistants. Serve as a member of the MAE Laboratory committee. Provide general upkeep of the Aerospace Engineering (AE) laboratory facilities and work with AE faculty and the Associate Department Head to identify specific needs for the facilities. Assist AE Senior Design activities on an ad hoc basis. Participate in University and College of Engineering Open House activities. |

Minimum Education and Experience | PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, with one year of experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, Assistant Teaching Professor, Lecturer or any other position in which the required experience was gained. Must have demonstrated experience with: teaching undergraduate experimental aerodynamics and aerospace structure laboratory courses; designing test apparatus in aerodynamics and structure dynamics field of study; data acquisition programming capabilities in LabVIEW and data processing and analysis in MATLAB; device/equipment operation in subsonic/supersonic wind tunnel and aerospace structure experimentation, including Pitot tube, load cell, hot wire, pressure scanner, NI DAQ, strain gage, tension/compression testing machine, and strain indicator; and assisting in wind tunnel testing for aerospace engineering senior design project. |
