Job Summary

Plans, develops and organizes the activities of the clinical staff, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of quality health care.

Accountabilities

  • Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other activities related to direct patient care. Fields and directs clinical telephone calls. - 15%

  • Participates in the assessment of clinical staffing needs by maintaining a master work schedule, adjusting staffing levels and forecasting staffing needs.\u00A0 - 15%

  • Develops and conducts orientation and in service training for clinical staff. - 10%

  • Develops, implements and maintains emergency preparedness plan. - 10%

  • Serves as chief liaison between the clinical staff and physicians. - 5%

  • Assists with development and maintenance of quality improvement by reviewing incident reports, patient complaints and suggestions, current practices and actions taken. Develops and conducts programs for enhancing patient satisfaction. - 15%

  • Monitors local, state and federal regulations affecting operations and assists with the development, implementation and monitoring of appropriate policies and procedures. - 10%

  • Contacts vendors for repair or routine service of medical equipment.\u00A0Forwards proposals/quotes to Office Supervisor for approval. - 5%

  • Maintains adequate levels of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals.\u00A0- 5%

  • Responsible for adherence to DEA, DHEC and other regulatory agency policies and procedures for ordering, dispensing, storing and disposing of pharmaceuticals. - 5%

  • Oversees physician's office schedule. - 5%

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred. \u200B

  • 3 years\u00A0of experience in clinical field of certification.\u200B

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

  • Certification or licensure in one or more of the following:
    -South Carolina LPN license
    -OR-\u00A0Radio-logic\u00A0Technologist (ARRT)
    -OR- Limited Practice Radiologic Technologist
    -OR- General, Medical Laboratory Technician
    -OR- Certified Surgical Technician
    -OR- Registered Respiratory Technician
    -OR- Medical Assistant certification including: CMA (AAMA); RMA (AMT); CCMA(NHA); NCMA (NCCT); RMA (ARMA); NRCMA (NAHP); or RMA (AAMP)
    (Certification must be maintained throughout employment in role. Human Resources may waive certification for incumbents who are unable to maintain certification due to their assignment within a physician practice setting.)
