The Director Purchase Based Contract Operations is responsible for a team of over 35 individuals including 4 First Line Managers accountable for distinct processes: Customer and contract eligibility and product access, including registration process for GSKs direct vaccine ordering system, Wholesaler and Distributor Chargeback Operations, PHS 340B mandated contract execution, Provider contracting (product, pricing and payment execution) within the GPO, CCS, Federal, Retail and IDN/Health System markets. This role also interfaces with GSK/ViiV Business Units to support the design of contracting strategies.

Role Description:

Area of Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Direct resources and establish structures, processes, policies, procedures, and tools to enable the contract execution process to be managed in a cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Ensure GSK contract systems are maintained and controlled to minimize legal, compliance and regulatory risk and ensure contract execution accuracy.
  • Champion process measurement and monitoring initiatives to drive continuous improvement and customer focus.
  • Establish relationships with GSK and ViiV Business Units to support the design of contracting strategies.
  • Interface with Government Pricing on contract setup and data reporting
  • Direct and oversee contract execution process to ensure:
    • Contract pricing and membership is properly maintained in order for customers to receive the correct contract pricing,
    • Contract discount payments are processed and communicated to customers accurately, on time, and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract,

Why You?

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of people management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or CPA
  • Experience in contract strategy, contract operations, internal controls, and government pricing programs.
  • Project management, process improvement experience
  • Strong business acumen and deep understanding of financial, legal and compliance risks associated with contract operations.
  • Proven ability to lead under pressure and in a changing environment.
  • Demonstrated success as a team leader who drives compliance and continuous improvement to established process and procedures.
  • Results oriented, self-starter with the ability to drive accountability for results within the team.
  • High level of motivation and ability to find creative solutions to challenging business issues or unique customer situations.
  • Demonstrated multi-dimensional and complex problem-solving skills (technology, people, processes).
  • Demonstrated ability to work seamlessly across multi-disciplinary teams to help implement new contract strategies, new business requirements or new legislation.
