Plant Environment:The OC Aiken facility is not climate controlled. With industrial ovens as part of our process, the manufacturing floor temperature is susceptible to the heat or cold of the outdoors. The facility is also unionized.

Shift Schedule:12 hour shifts, three or four scheduled shifts a week, rotating between day shift (8a-8p) and night shift (8p-8a) every two weeks

SUMMARY

The Warehouse Equipment Operator (WEO) is responsible for using orders to plan, locate, select, and accumulate goods for shipping. He/she transports finished goods and other material in/out the warehouse area. He/she loads and unloads finished goods or incoming materials, verifies shipments against orders, operates RF equipment and utilizes SAP/ WM system. Provides lift truck support throughout the plant, and receives and disburses store or direct material items.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs all functions of the job with specific attention to safe behaviors, environmental stewardship, and housekeeping duties and reports all nonconformities to management.
  • Responsibilities include
    1. Primary Process Responsibilities
      1. Read, understand and follow all Standard Operating Procedures [SOPs]
      2. Operate industrial equipment when required
      3. Complete a forklift inspection at the beginning of each shift and turn in paperwork to warehouse office
      4. Receive all production on shift
      5. Receive all shuttles that come from the outside warehouse and store in the precursor, wet chop, or Slitter area
      6. Ensure that wet chop and precursor are available for production
      7. Load empty citadels on trailers for return shipments
      8. Surge all plastic, cardboard, and dispose of mat accumulated during shift
      9. Return unused tubes to designated area, ensuring they are strapped and labeled
      10. Move all material to the HOLD/REWORK area as needed
      11. Unload any returns that come back to the plant
      12. Verify, unload, and receive all wet chop
      13. Inspect trailers and complete trailer inspection sheets for every load

      1. Clean and sweep trailers as needed to ensure product is not damaged when loaded for shipping
      2. Set up/ Scan each shuttle in SAP/WM, print paperwork, and Load accurately for transport to outside warehouse
      3. Work with Team Lead to ensure all shuttles are PGI'd in a timely manner so outside warehouse can receive them
      4. Ensure that rewrap rolls are in the proper location
      5. Ensure all packaging is available for production based on the production schedule, and notify the shift lead or warehouse chief if packaging is not available as needed
      6. Check propane tanks and ensure the proper levels of propane are available
      7. Unload chemicals in totes and storeroom items as needed
      8. Use SAP and WM as needed
      1. Responsible/accountable for the safe operation of a forklift for the purposes of moving, locating, relocating, stacking and inventorying of material
      1. Responsible for unloading shipments safely
      1. Responsible for pulling/preparing customer orders with 100% accuracy for quantity and type of product
      1. Performs picking duties in an efficient and safe manner that meets or exceeds customer service standards
    1. Primary Safety Responsibilities
      1. Follow all safety rules and procedures for the plant
      2. Follow all lockout procedures
      3. Follow all safety signs and documentation
      4. Follow all safety rules and procedures concerning the handling of all chemicals within the area of their responsibility
      5. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment [PPE] at all times
    2. Demonstrate group effort by working cooperatively with shift members
      1. Minimize process downtime
      2. Participate on continuous improvement work groups
      3. Support trials
      4. Use general tools (not requiring specialized training) as needed to perform the job
      5. Help identify process problems and seek solutions
    3. Maintain Communication
      1. Sustain effective communication
      2. Maintain logs as required
      3. Assist in resolving supplier and customer complaints by providing relevant information
      4. Participate in shift huddles and meetings as required
    4. Perform other related duties consistent with the nature of job as directed by management

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The employee should hold the following abilities:

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions
  • Must possess strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must have the ability to multi-task
  • Must have strong internal and external customer service skills
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Must have the ability to do basic mathematical calculations
  • Must have prior forklift experience
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee should have the following:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required

The employee should possess the ability to:

  • Pass drug screen prior to employment
  • Acceptable background check
  • Pass pre-employment physical
