Farnsworth Group is seeking an Energy and Utilities Engineer in either our Charlotte, NC or St. Louis, MO office. In this role, you will work with experienced engineers on a vast array of energy and utility projects. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience in the energy and utility industry.
Job Activities:
  • Provide technical support as part of an engineering team on projects reporting directly to Farnsworth's project manager.
  • Provide project management on small to medium sized projects as a representative reporting directly to the Owner's project manager.
  • Project development - provide technical and design support for the development of projects (conceptual through permit, bid, final design, and closeout including as-builts).
  • Project coordination with various project team stakeholders including but not limited to client representatives, internal departments (i.e. survey and electrical), subcontractors, subconsultants, and other Energy and Utility team members including mentoring opportunities of staff
  • Observe construction at field locations to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Support proposal development including fee estimating, schedules, and writing of proposal letters along with coordination with the proposal team.
Specific Requirements include:
  • BS in Civil, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering, from an ABET accredited institution
  • 5-15 years of experience in the energy or similar utility industries
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification and PE license a plus
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge of Survey equipment, activities, and processes
  • Must demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must be willing to travel and have a valid driver's license
