Job Summary:

Oversee the overall activities of the category management and sourcing process for Lowe's indirect spend categories. Uses industry analysis and insights in the development of sourcing strategies. Utilizes complex negotiating skills with vendors to lower cost and maximize value for Lowe's and finalize terms and conditions for Lowe's approved contracts. Performs complex analysis of high spend and high-volume categories in the development of category spend and vendor profiles. Collaborates and leads internal Lowe's customers, cross-functional stakeholders, and vendors though the Lowe's sourcing process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads and facilitates Lowe's competitive end-to-end sourcing process for internal Lowe's customer groups and cross-functional partners driving financial outcomes aligned to Lowe's Enterprise goals.
  • Assesses industry and market trends for category to understand market competitiveness, pricing trends, scope of services, benchmarks, etc.
  • Develops and presents presentation materials for Category plans to customers and sourcing leadership. Aligns Category plan to customer's functional plan and demand to meet customer needs.
  • Creates and executes sourcing events including respective bid documents ranging from $1M - $20M in spend (i.e., Request for Proposal, Request for Information, Request for Quote, etc.) for solicitation/distribution to vendors for specific service and/or goods categories.
  • Creates presentations using data to summarize proposal responses received from vendors. Develops final scenario analysis and recommendations to internal Lowe's customers for decision/contract award.
  • Develops negotiation strategies and executes formal negotiations with vendors maximizing value for Lowe's. Identifies key roles and messages for negotiation participants.
  • Leverages and coaches others to deliver appropriate negotiation messages and maintain maximum leverage.
  • Exerts influence internally and externally in negotiations to maximize the value of deals.
  • Authors Master contract agreements and Statements of Work that include complex cost models/structures, performance management (KPIs), penalty and incentive provisions.
  • Leads and collaborates with internal Lowe's customers and cross functional partners to draft and negotiate contract Statements of Work.
  • Manages contract lifecycle for assigned indirect categories including contract renewal and expiration dates to inform overall Category Plan while leveraging relevant partners across the organization
  • Builds and maintains customer relationships with leaders of internal Lowe's customer groups.
  • Expected to interface frequently with customers regarding project updates and status. Initiates and facilitates meetings with key customers and cross-functional partners to review and manage Category Plans.
  • Develops, conducts, and evaluates process/procedure improvement opportunities and individual/team training needs.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance or Engineering or 5 additional years of experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
  • 2 Years of experience in Sourcing, Supply Chain, Sales, Finance or similar work with an emphasis on sourcing, negotiations, and contracting
