Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Coordinator will be crucial assisting with new product development, ensuring that boats are designed to fit within the manufacturing processes at the New Bern, NC manufacturing plant. Specializes in process knowledge and boat construction, able to assist in breaking down barriers that hinder efficiencies such as process, quality, warranty, and through-put issues. Assist with management of new products including custom fabrication projects and prototype boats. Must have a firm understanding of all boat manufacturing processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists in Initiating and completing projects involving existing and prototype products.

  • Assists with the overall construction and timelines for new product programs.

  • Communicates and works with other related departments as required.

  • Performs troubleshooting duties regarding equipment, product, and component issues.

  • Provides on-floor support to ensure production barriers are being addressed.

  • Engages in all forms of Phase Gate new product development activities.

  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Associates or technical training in any field

  • Preferred Degree: Bachelors in any engineering field

  • Experience: 5 years of experience in manufacturing. Experience in boat manufacturing preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Various boat construction methods used in 13-80' boats.

  • Working knowledge of all types of saltwater boats.

  • Ability to aid the design team with ideas regarding processes, product, and function.

  • Communicate well with designers as well as manufacturing personnel.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimal

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regular computer work, walking, and standing.

  • Occasional siting and lifting up to 50 lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

  • Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
