North State Bank has an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager in our West Raleigh office. The Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager assists the Bank's Market Presidents and Commercial Bankers by completing activities to help monitor the existing loan portfolio, analyze new lending opportunities, and close loans in accordance with established lending objectives, policies, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Market President and/or Commercial Banker by preparing credit packages and annual reviews for timely review and final approval. This includes obtaining and analyzing borrower financial information and presentation of recommendations.
  • Ensure loan documentation files are complete, including comprehensive documentation of the decision making process.
  • Responsible for the ongoing portfolio management of relationships including the potential identification and documentation of problem loans, policy exceptions, grade changes, annual reviews, watch list reviews, and/or special reviews that may be required
  • Assist the Market President and/or Commercial Banker by maintaining various reports such as pipeline reports, maturities, missing or stale financial information, and exception reports etc.
  • Cultivates relationships with customers, through participation in customer and prospect meetings, to allow the Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager to serve as an extension of the Market President and/or Commercial Banker.
  • Be actively involved in community activities that will promote the bank and/or assist in business development.
  • Assists the Market President and/or Commercial Banker by conducting loan closings and monitoring the portfolio.
  • Ensures timely receipt of updated financial information necessary to monitor risk and identify other banking opportunities.

Qualifications (Includes education, certifications, experience, etc.):

  • A Bachelors' degree in business, including specific courses in accounting, finance and economics plus additional bank related training, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Five or more years related portfolio management or commercial banking with credit analysis responsibilities required.
  • Possess and maintain eligibility for NMLS registration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
