We have a contract opportunity for a (Rotating Day/Night Shift) Lab Technician in Southport North Carolina. This position is ongoing with no defined end date at this time.

Pay Rate: $22.00/Hr.

Rotating Shifts:
Week 1 M, Tu, W, Th 6:30 am - 6:30 pm (Day)
Week 2 F, Sa, Su, M 6:30 pm - 6:30 am (Night)
Week 3 F, Sa, Su 6:30 am - 6:30 pm (Day)
Week 4 Tu, W, Th 6:30 pm - 6:30 am (Night)

Job Description:

• Prepare process and finished product samples
• Perform analytical testing using instrumental, wet chemistry procedures, and record results using computerized data systems.
• Performs process monitoring tests throughout the plant.
• Maintains samples of product to confirm test results.
• Documents results of testing procedures and notifies operations of required adjustments.
• Enter and report data using a Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
• Understands most production processes required in the production of product and may make recommendations to operators to achieve product quality.
• Performs light maintenance and calibration.
• Maintains records of the results of all testing procedures and inputs such data into computer.
• Maintains supplies used for testing procedures and notifies the supervisor of the need.
• Compares equipment readouts with samples to ensure that systems are operating accurately.
• Maintains a neat and clean working area, washing equipment and placing in the storage areas.
• Performs duties in a safe manner, utilizing safety equipment and successfully completes all safety certification requirements.
• Maintains awareness and adheres to all FDA, GMP, BATF, EPA, OSHA and employer standards and guidelines.

1. Excellent safety awareness
2. Demonstrates computer skills to utilize lab instrument programs.
3. Familiarity with current software applications (Excel, Word)
4. Experience with lab documentation.
5. Operate lab equipment (pH meter, balances, spectrophotometer)
6. Demonstrates math skills to perform calculations.
7. Previous plant experience a plus
8. Housekeeping and sanitation skills
9. Accurate record keeping skills.
10. Attendance and punctuality
11. Ability to lift to 40 lbs.
12. Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time.
