What You'll Do
  • Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture
  • Gain knowledge about Steel Making processes through job shadowing and hands on activities Intern will spend time in each job role throughout the department
  • Works cross functionally under direction to improve manufacturing/department processes
  • Completes special projects as assigned by their manager, to include analysis and change continuous improvement recommendations as requested
  • Perform general labor to support operation requirements
  • Perform minor repairs to keep buildings, grounds, and equipment in working order to include: landscaping, painting and housekeeping
  • Participates in team meetings and activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Plan, coordinate, and communicate with peers and supervisors daily to ensure safe operations, preservation of company assets, environmental compliance, cost and energy consciousness, and to promote the values of the CMC people program
  • Presentation/Report on an improvement project at the end of internship

  • Ability to work in extreme heat
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment required

  • Must meet CMC attendance standards
  • Ability to interact with coworkers and customers in a positive manner, follow directions and work rules and accept constructive feedback required
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, lift, kneel, squat, crawl and reach
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary outside of normally scheduled shift with little or no advance notification required, including weekends and holidays
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Good math skills required
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Your Education
  • Currently pursuing a degree in a related field at an accredited university
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field required
