The Role

City & State is seeking an entrepreneurial, creative, analytical and driven Sales Executive to join our team. In this role, you will be a critical player in achieving print, digital and sponsorship sales. As the Sales Executive, you will report directly to Publisher of City & State Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

  • Key initiator of new and strategic business development targeting medium to large sized state/local government service provider accounts.
  • Profound and demonstrable networking, research and social media outreach skills to connect with mid to senior-level executives and other key stakeholders to generate interest, pipeline opportunities and new business.
  • Understanding of short term and long term sales cycle
  • Ability to meet and exceed goals on a monthly and yearly basis
  • Highly skillful diagnosing and assessing client needs at a strategic and business outcome level.
  • Executive presence and credibility in face to face meetings, live in person and live online.
  • Closes business consistently within the company guidelines developed for subscription, services and expansion mix and pricing.

Qualifications

  • Experience with media sales, event sponsorship sales and/or digital sales.
  • Experience in government related industry preferred
  • Bachelors in business, organizational development, advertising, public policy or related field.
  • Stable work history and highly successful track record of personal sales performance in small to medium corporate environments.
  • Proven consultative sales background with demonstrated skills in the areas of lead generation, prospecting, forecasting, and driving quality opportunities to closure.
  • Strong verbal, written communications, and technical skills.
  • Ability to do high level inquiry and advocate City & State credentials and capabilities in a compelling, polished manner from the buyer's point of view

The compensation range for this role is $80,000 to $100,000 plus a commission potential of $25,000 to $75,000 per year.
