Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lamination Manager is responsible for planning, coordination and control of the lamination processes and the Outfitters who perform them. Specializing in process knowledge and boat construction, they will break down barriers that hinder efficiencies such as process, quality, warranty, and through-put issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Plans, directs, and controls activities of supervisors and area leads to meet overall departmental objectives.

  • Develops and implements consistent department procedures and evaluates process methods for improvement.

  • Communicates methods, policies, and procedures to leads and supervisors and anticipates, investigates, and evaluates future process needs.

  • Interfaces with all plant management groups, including customer service, quality, materials, finance, EHS, and human resources to meet production, quality, and compliance requirements.

  • Maintains and reports production performance metrics using SQCD board.

  • Educates and direct 2nd level goal deployment for direct report supervisors.

  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred Degree: Associate degree in any discipline

  • Years of experience: 5 years of experience in manufacturing

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Experience using Lean Sigma to accomplish business goals and objectives.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively speak before groups of associates and other managers in the organization.

  • Experienced in the use of, and creating spreadsheets, databases, and charting.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • N/A

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regular computer work, walking and standing

  • Occasionally sitting and lifting up to 50lbs

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

  • Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
