Position Purpose:

McAdams is seeking an HR Business Partner who will serve as a trusted advisor, coach, and partner to managers and employees. The candidate will collaborate with managers on development planning, organizational design, workforce planning, performance management, goal setting, benefits and compensation, and other people related processes. Along with our entire HR team, the HR Business partner will help shape policies, processes, and strategies that deliver a positive team member experience at McAdams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and ensure equitable administration of human resources function, policies, and programs. Such activities include staff planning, business partner consulting, career planning, team building, diversity and inclusion initiatives, organizational development, total rewards planning and administration, training and development, change management, conflict management, equal opportunity/affirmative action, worker's compensation, safety, communications, and other related areas.
  • Translate business needs into plans of action that achieve and/or help move forward business goals/strategies by partnering with McAdams leaders.
  • Partner with HR team members to ensure delivery of high-quality HR services and programs to internal clients.
  • Facilitate and at times design continuous improvement initiatives specifically focused on increasing organizational, team, and individual performance.
  • Maintain a positive work environment by creating an engaging culture.
  • Conduct effective and objective investigations that balance employee and business needs while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Develop, maintain, and interpret effective human resources policies and procedures; and identify emerging HR issues.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Perform other duties assigned to meet business needs.

Skills and Experience:

  • 7+ years of progressively responsible HR experience - ideally, experience will have been in a small to medium sized, high-growth organization
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education/training and experience that will allow employee to adequately perform the functions of the job
  • Proven experience launching new policies and programs that are easy to join and have clear value for team members
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully influence, lead, and manage others not under their direct supervision to ensure desired results
  • Proven experience using data and analytics that inform workforce planning, development plans, and career progression
  • Proven ability to contribute fully to collaborative business partner and executive team activities involved in successfully leading and running the business
  • Working knowledge of human resources disciplines including compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance management, safety and training/organization development
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems- previous experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
  • Proficiency in computer software programs - Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Willingness and ability to demonstrate ethical behavior and support McAdams' philosophy and values
  • Ability to work in an environment where all processes and policies are not yet defined, and support into the work of defining them
  • Previous experience working with a large number of non-exempt, field-based employees a plus
  • PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SCP strongly preferred
