Overview

We have an immediate opening for a full stack engineer to join the Radiation Oncology Center of Innovation (ROCI). ROCI is a collaborative team of physicians, physicists, and software engineers working together to solve challenging problems in cancer care that directly impact our patients. A candidate must have strong skills with either C#, PHP, or Javascript. Experience in Python, Dev Ops, SQL, and machine learning are also desirable. No prior experience in health care is needed. This position can be remote or hybrid depending on the candidate's preference.

Under immediate supervision, this position assists in the design, development, and code functional programs and applications in accordance to enterprise standards and end-user requirements. Responsibilities include coordinating day-to-day team activities, translating client to application features, creating prototypes according to specifications, write high quality source code for applications within deadlines, perform unit testing, troubleshoot and debug applications, evaluate existing applications to reprogram or update and add new features, and develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code. Successful performance of this role is demonstrated by the timely completion of all assigned project goals, which contribute to the overall provision of quality, efficient and effective business application solutions to support the decision-making required in delivering patient care across the continuum. In addition, this position promotes high standards in regards to effective departmental and customer service.

Responsibilities

Actively participates and materially contributes to the technical aspects of defining, documenting and implementing development best practices (standards, processes and procedures).

Actively participates in JAD (Joint Application Design) sessions to collect, document and validate end-user data, application and report requirements.

Collaborates with teammates to support both legacy and new applications and instructs users with correct application usage

Engages in all aspects of the applications development life cycle - Discover, Define, Design, Development and deploy applications in support of the priorities of the organization.

Maintains knowledge of new, development techniques and/or technologies and their application within the healthcare sector.

Participates effectively as part of -on-call- rotation with teammates.

Participates effectively in formal and informal team events and discussions.

Proactively suggests considerations for optimal application testing and actively participates in such validation and testing methodologies.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
Required:
Bachelor's degree with 5 years experience in relevant field, or
Associate's degree with 10 years experience in relevant field, or
High school diploma with 15 years experience in relevant field.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, programming, analytics or other technical field.

EXPERIENCE:
Required:
At least 5 years professional experience in Software Development Life Cycle.
Preferred:
2+ years of healthcare information systems experience.
2+ years of experience working with data warehouses, data marts and business intelligence applications and/or enterprise reporting tools.
