Job Description

1 Obtain work instructions from supervisor.

4. 2 Work from written and verbal instructions, purchase orders, invoices, delivery slips, and similar records.

4. 3 Operate forklift, hand trucks, use simple hand tools, scales, tapes and similar items.

4. 4 Check and verify incoming shipments of material, parts, tools, supplies, equipment and other items against purchase orders, delivery slips, and invoices.

4. 5 Compare identifying information and count, weigh or measure items for accuracy and conformance to orders or specifications.

4. 6 Record receipt and acceptance of items, unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages and other discrepancies.

4. 7 Transport or route items to proper location or storage area.

4. 8 Complete receiving report and maintain required records, forms and reports.

4. 9 Operate forklift, hand trucks and carts in moving incoming material to proper locations.

4. 10 Detect faulty operation of equipment, incorrect orders, damaged items, shortages, and refer questionable situations to the supervisor.

4. 11 Maintain work area, tools, equipment and supplies in a neat, orderly and proper housekeeping manner. Observe and comply with company work and safety rules.

4. 12 Perform these and other comparable related duties as instructed.
