We are looking for a Senior Process Control Engineer in our Meadville, PA Float Glass facility to be responsible for technological, programming and troubleshooting support of the float process equipment and production processes to ensure reliability and optimum use of resources. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our manufacturing processes and equipment while also identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Will include the following but is not limited to:

    Process Control Systems include: Deltav DCS, Allen Bradley PLCs, Modicon PLCs, Siemens PLC, VFDs, HMIs.
  • Develop and implement process control systems, including the design of control strategies, selection of sensors and actuators, and programming of control algorithms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to process control systems, including equipment failures, software bugs, and communication errors.
  • Optimize process control systems to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions. (Advanced Process Control Community group from other plants)
  • Provide training and support to operators, GMMs and Electronic Technicians personnel on the use of process control systems and plant instrumentation.
  • Utilize effective cost controls and sound programming judgment in the timely planning and implementation of projects and other work assignments to contribute to plant productivity and profitability goals and objectives.
  • Maintain the AVEVA PI System - plant process data collection system.
  • Supervision of Maintenance department Electronic Technicians.
    • Responsibilities include scheduling and tracking PMs, predictive, corrective Maintenance including documentation needed around it, such SAP/BTP deliverables.
    • Track and assign projects.
    • Procuring materials and spares needed to perform their job.
    • Approving time sheets and calling overtime when needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in electrical engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in process control engineering, with a focus on the design, implementation, and maintenance of control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of control theory, including PID control, feedback control, and advanced control techniques.
  • Experience with process instrumentation, including sensors, transmitters, and control valves.
  • Experience troubleshooting and programming required for the following: Modicon PLC's, Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC's, DeltaV DCS, Microsoft .NET, Variable Frequency Drive, and network PC as well as a high level of competency with windows-based computer systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a cross-functional team.
  • Must be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to lead and effectively participate in teams and to work without close supervision.
  • Capable of leading and being led by cross functional team.
