Engineering Lab Technician
Job Description
- Work with engineers to build Prototypes and RF Application boards. Work with other technicians, engineers, and managers to identify and resolve issues related to design, manufacturing, testing, and quality control.
- Run Tests
and diagnostics on components and systems, maintain test data and be able to
discuss tests results with engineers and management.
- Inspect
equipment calibration records and coordinate activities related to the annual
calibration events. Installing, operating, and maintaining engineering
equipment and software
- Perform repairs and maintenance on a variety of lab and office equipment.
- Maintain Inventory, reorder materials and electrical components. Perform
regular quality control audits to ensure that lab ESD measures of the
project adheres to the high standards of the company.
- Troubleshooting both to the component level and test system set-ups, the use of circuit analysis techniques to identify IC failures, and applying solid problem solving techniques to resolve issues in a timely manner
- Ability to work collaboratively with others from all disciples of the Company
Qualifications
- Must have a background and a working knowledge to operate and perform test set-ups using such equipment as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, mixed signal and sampling oscilloscopes, signal generators, pulse generators, curve tracers, noise figure meters, power supplies, power meters, SMU's, and multi-meters.
- Proven background in working with RF and microwave products that operate from DC to 50 GHz. Product background must consist of a strong working knowledge with driver amplifiers, low noise amplifiers, high power amplifiers, buffer amplifiers, digital and analog attenuators both serial and parallel, dividers, detectors, frequency multipliers, VCO's, mixers, modulators/demodulators, multi-function modules, digital and analog phase shifters, switches, PIN diodes, and synthesizers.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Associate's degree in Electronics is a plus or 3 years test and measurement experience is required for this position.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to solve problems independently as well as in a team environment.
- IPC Certification a Plus
