Description

We are hiring a Beverage Director for our new modern Asian restaurant - the Hestia, which is located in Charlotte, NC. The Hestia will feature a sushi and an Oyster bar, A5 Miyazaki Wagyu, Hyper Fresh Seafood, and an extensive menu of Modern Asian Cuisine. The restaurant will have Spectrum Dining, a fully immersive 5D projection room, 3,000 square feet of outdoor dining and lounge, as well as extensive wine and Sake offerings with classic and featured craft cocktails.


Responsibilities:

Provide guests and patrons with friendly and professional service, excellent food quality, strong price value and consistency of execution in an attractive, well-maintained environment.

Ensure that drinks are delivered in a timely fashion with attention to plating, portion and temperature.

Develop ways to improve cost savings and labor retention/associate development in line to meet the restaurants financial goals.

Thoroughly train staff in service sequence, product knowledge, ensuring we make every effort to meet the needs of each and every guest.

Employee discussions and evaluations.

Selection and pricing strategy of all liquors and wines and supervision of their procurement.

Assist in meeting the financial targets in the sales area by executing and enhancing the annual marketing plan, reacting quickly to new opportunities, running consistently high operation standards and effective utilization of marketing funds.

Help meet budget in all areas of cost control with consistent focus on cost of sales and payroll.

Maintaining beverage stock weekly.

Creating a wine list and writing wine descriptions.

Developing new cocktail and drink ideas.

Suggesting food and wine pairings to servers and customers.

Recommending wines based on customer preferences.

Training waitstaff on wines, beers, and liquors.

Conducting wine tastings for staff and customers.

Requirements:

Experience in fast paced high occupancy bars.

Level 1 Sommelier Certification Preferred.

Experience Developing Craft Cocktail Menus.
