As a Senior Certification Engineer, you will contribute significantly to technology and product development projects by identifying and implementing innovative solutions. ABB Process Automation Measurement & Analytics division is seeking an experienced individual to join our team as a Senior Certification Engineer. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in navigating the complex landscape of certification requirements for our products in target markets. Collaborating closely with R&D (Research and development) and Product Management, you'll identify and pursue new certifications while maintaining meticulous records. Your expertise in interpreting regulations and standards will be instrumental in guiding product design and safety protocols.

This position reports to

Analytical R&D Manager

Your responsibilities

  • Assist in coordination with R&D and Product Management to identify requirements for certification of products in target markets
  • Pursue new certifications and certification updates as required
  • Assist in the management and maintenance of certification records and files
  • Assist in interpretation of regulations, standards, and certifications with respect to product design, safety and marking requirements
  • Foster strong and effective relationships with certifiers and their representatives
  • Take part in standards development committees and transfer knowledge to the product management and design teams as needed to assure continued compliance of product
  • Work and corporate with Global Approvals manager to align on group initiatives
Your background

  • Bachelor's degree /master's degree in electronics engineering (electrical wiring or electronic technology) or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of working Experience with hazardous location product development and requirements
  • Experience working in manufacturing environment and in Quality programs
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply technical documents such as product standards
  • Strong analytic skills with an emphasis on critical thinking, root cause analysis and problem solving
  • Good to have Lean Six Sigma Green Belt methodology and certification
  • Good to have experience with NRTL or Certification bodies
  • Highly collaborative, results oriented change agent
  • Ability to travel globally on occasion
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
