Job Description

Position Summary:

Perform the day-to-day management and distribution of a rapidly growing library of biologics samples. Will be responsible for checking in, registering, and aliquoting new samples, maintaining database and Access/Excel inventories, and labeling and distributing outgoing samples. Will work closely with basic automation (i.e. Tube Cappers, barcode readers, automated liquid handlers) to streamline high-throughput workflows.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage existing inventory of several thousand samples in MS Access/Excel.
  • High attention to detail required to maintain inventory and data integrity.
  • Store new and locate existing samples in ULT Freezers, logging new locations (Freezer/Shelf/Rack/Position) in inventory.
  • Accept and process requests for distribution of samples to local groups in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the migration and rollout of a new, bespoke inventory system.
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
  • Assures proper labeling, handling, and storage of all chemicals used in the area; assures proper labeling and disposition of hazardous waste in satellite areas; adheres to all safety requirements and follows safe procedures, and attends all required safety and health training, including handling hazardous waste.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Science based Bachelor's Degree with 0-4 years experience in a lab environment.
  • Motivated, customer focused, and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in sample management strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity or previous work in a cGMP environment favored.

Salary: $19-$24/hr

Salary range provided per current averages and expectations. The salary and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
