The Maintenance Ammonia Refrigeration/HVAC Technician ensures proper maintenance and operational status of equipment associated with the Ammonia/Refrigeration and HVAC of the entire Bakery. This includes affected equipment such as building structures, manufacturing equipment, and support systems utilized by the plant.

  • Provide Preventative Maintenance and repair of all plant Ammonia System/Refrigeration, HVAC, Boiler and Utility equipment and maintenance of plant production equipment as needed.
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager with weekend rotation as needed for Refrigeration and Alarm issues.
  • Maintain and follow a plant Process Safety Management program that meets all regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining the plants HAZMAT program and equipment.
  • Train/Assist other members on Ammonia/Refrigeration/HVAC basics, acting as mentor for the development of qualified Refrigeration Technicians.
  • Research parts needed for work/repairs and properly utilize the parts inventory and work order systems.
  • Cover areas of the plant as assigned by the Department Manager.
  • Monitor abnormal process and equipment conditions, incidents, hazards or emergencies.
  • Closely monitor critical process parameters, process performance and efficiency, initiating changes necessary through work teams.
  • Create written reports for planning activities, relevant analysis and maintenance procedures and send suggestions to the Maintenance Manager.

What we require:

What we require:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated success in the maintenance and operation of Ammonia/Industrial Refrigeration and Boiler systems, with solid skills in electrical, mechanical, PLC, and plumbing.
  • Ammonia certification or license.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and extended hours.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.
  • High School diploma/general education degree (GED) or relevant work experience.

  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to push and pull, occasional use of pallet jack for Finished Goods library sample storage.
  • Ability to work in hot-cold environment (freezer -10'F cooler 40'F) and Oven room/area 99'F.
  • Ability to work in moderate high noise environment (PPE provided).
  • Ability to work with chemicals (PPE provided).
