Principal Prospective Research Operations

What will you be doing:

  • Create 5 year strategic plan to grow and evolve Prospective research studies and projects
  • Develop increased capabilities in prospective research, from recruitment to study execution
  • Serve as the PAS point of contact for staff within and outside of PAS for general expertise in prospective research
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Facilitate talent acquisition, development, succession, retention process
  • Performance management, coaching, development of staff
  • Build and lead the team of staff that can support and deliver to the goals and the vision for the group and the division
  • Train team and supporting staff on industry best practices, improvement science, and professional standards
  • Communicate and administer corporate, Performance Services segment, and departmental policies
  • Facilitate team communication to ensure staff is informed
  • Budgeting and management of staff capacity, utilization, and operating expense
  • Ensure staff plan and report billable and non-billable time accurately
  • Work with appropriate team members and other Premier stakeholders to develop and disseminate the value proposition, media and other marketing and promotional materials necessary for project support and recruitment
  • In collaboration with the business development team, strategically drive client prospective research discussions
  • Translate stakeholder objectives into research opportunities
  • Establish research agenda and determine, organize, and prioritize projects
  • Ensures scientifically valid and feasable project outcomes
  • Ensure that data and deliverables meet internal and external clients' expectations
  • Support the design of prospective research solutions based on client needs including development of framework, strategic outlook, and future technologies
  • Work with and leverage internal and external stakeholders to gain actionable intelligence from data sources to enhance research proposal and business development
  • Lead and create content deliverables and project scope
  • Provide research guidance to PAS's research initiatives
  • Attend conferences and national meetings to network with key thought leaders in field
  • Provide thought leadership in medical care delivery via contributions to peer reviewed journals, industry blogs, and other appropriate forums.
  • Potential travel of 40-59% within the US.

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience people management and leading teams in the design and execution of prospective research
  • Business acumen and experience in supporting the sales process, responding to RFPs, creation of scopes of works, and reporting on contracted deliverables
  • Leadership of cross functional teams

Work Experience:

Years of Applicable Experience - 7 or more years

Education:

Bachelors (Required)


Preferred Qualifications

Relevant Experience to include:

  • 15 years Applicable Experience
  • Hands on experience with leading Improvement and Implementation Science solutions in healthcare sector
  • Direct healthcare operations experience, including work with senior leadership at providers and Life Science companies

Preferred Education:

PhD

Travel Requirements: Travel 40-59% within the US


Physical Demands: Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves remaining stationary most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if movement is required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.


Premier's compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier's internal salary range for this role is $155,000 - $289,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
