Job Description

Laitram Machine Shop, L.L.C. Quality Department has an opening for a Quality Assurance Specialist. This position will be scheduled Monday through Friday, Dayshift. Overtime and weekend work may be required as needed.

Responsibilities
*Provide support to production and effectively elevate issues when needed
*Lead root cause and corrective action efforts
*Coordinate with our customers and support the setting and updating of product specifications
*Effectively transition products and processes from sampling through qualification
*Manage and improve documentation of processes and procedures
*Provide oversight of implementation and maintenance of the quality training program
*Manage, create, and improve Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) program for production and customer validation
*Develop, implement and provide oversight of the process auditing program
*Research and champion the implementation of new quality technologies
*Complete data analysis and monitor trends of key metrics to identify and prioritize opportunities for improvements

Requirements
*Bachelor's degree or higher education in a technical field (fields of mechanics, information technology, mathematics, science, etc.)
*2+ years of work experience in a manufacturing quality environment, has knowledge of machine shop equipment and machining techniques
*Proficiency in basic and advanced computer software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SigmaXL, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications
*Experience with CNC machining and programming
*Up-to-date professional quality certifications (ASQ, QAI, CSSC, etc.)
*Basic understanding of the following: quality concepts, quality tools, probability, statistics, engineering processes, and change management
*Passion for learning and growth with ability to manage own tasks and meet goals and objectives with little supervision
*Demonstration of sense of urgency and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
*Ability to transfer knowledge well, and simplify complexity when communicating on all levels
*Strong analytical and critical problem-solving skills
*Proven track record of making consistent, logical, and objective decisions using good judgment
*Ability to assume good intentions and exhibit trust in workplace relationships
