Summary:
Carries out the operating policies of Nash Hospitals, Inc. within his/her area of operation as established by the Board of Directors and interpreted by the President of the hospital and the Senior Vice President/Chief Medical Officer. Maintains a staff of qualified social workers and nursing personnel as budgeted to provide case management/utilization management for his/her assigned patient population. Maintains a staff of qualified nurses and qualified personnel to provide transitional care services to discharged patients. Maintains adequate facilities, supplies, and equipment consistent with meeting the areas of responsibility delegated to him/her. Establishes efficient operating management throughout the areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively plans/directs overall department operations.
  • Establishes effective working relationships.
  • Initiates ongoing learning/development opportunities for the staff.
  • Evaluates the department's continuous quality /process improvement program and utilizes the information to further enhance the quality of the department's operations.
  • Takes initiative for self-improvement.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill necessary to provide appropriate care based on the age of the patients served.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Other information:

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Graduate of an approved nursing program.
  • Master's of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • RN License. Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
  • 5 years of experience in Healthcare/Medical - Nurse: Registered Nurse in a Clinical nursing experience
  • Knowledge of Case Management, Utilization Management as well as the rules and regulations governing healthcare.
  • Incumbent must demonstrate the ability to understand, communicate and react effectively and appropriately to the unique needs of neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
  • Incumbent must demonstrate clinical competence per the position's Skills Checklist before being allowed to perform independently.
