Account Specialist - Service & Consumables
Morrisville, NC

Your contribution

The Account Specialist - Service & Consumables serves customers by selling all Tecan Aftermarket Products and Services by identifying customer needs, proposing solutions, and supporting all existing products.

  • Serves as a responsible representative of Tecan US and operates with integrity and honesty in all business interactions.
  • Achieves sales plan for assigned area of responsibility by selling Aftermarket products or services.
  • Develops and maintains a high level of consultative sales skills and product knowledge with features and benefits required to convert customer needs to sales.
  • Obtains sufficient knowledge of accounts and products to develop and maintain account strategies to convert customer needs to sales.
  • Develops and maintains effective time, territory, and account management practices. Plans and organizes daily work schedule to service existing accounts, establish new accounts, maintain orders, and prospect for new opportunities
  • Provides quotes and/or contracts for Tecan services and consumables to customers within your given territory and gains customer acceptance
  • Analyses customer activity with forecasts for future sales. Reviews forecasts with during weekly meetings
  • Responds to problems or complaints that arise in accounts, either by personal action or by securing the assistance and support from others in the organization.
  • Maintains customer records and forecasts within the CRM.
  • Travels within territory as needed.
  • Handles essential tasks as assigned and responds to change productively.
  • Follows all local safety procedures, State and Federal OSHA Regulations, and reports any safety concerns.
  • Other duties as required

Your background

  • 1-2 years in a laboratory environment, preferably clinical or biotech, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Prior experience selling into clinical, biotech, pharma environments
  • 2-3 years sales experience required
  • BA degree in Life Sciences or similar
  • Use of CRM system such as C4C, Salesforce, etc.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft office applications
  • Ability to prospect for opportunities in the clinical/biotech/pharma environment
  • Ability to understand the technical nature of the products and sector in order to sell and cross sell
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, to develop organizations and to solve business issues while also managing costs and risks
  • Ability to recognize and manage potential problem areas and resolve them with integrity
  • Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of internal and external clients
  • Strong organizational and management skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly is very important
  • Strong presentation skills demonstrated before customer, peers, and upper management
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Ability to travel, at times on short notice.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, to multi-task
  • High level of commitment and initiative
  • A desire to make the difference!
