We are currently seeking an experienced public accounting professional with a Tax or Audit background for an exciting leadership opportunity in Michigan City, Indiana! The Director will play a pivotal role in managing client relationships and ensuring the delivery of high-quality audit, tax, and advisory services for our Michigan City office.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

• Oversee Tax/Audit engagements and serve as the primary point of contact for a diverse portfolio of clients
• Build and maintain strong client relationships based on trust and exceptional service
• Lead and mentor a team of managers, staff, and administrative professionals fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth
• Expand revenue of existing clients
• Responsible for short-term and long-term business planning; identify business opportunities for CBIZ in addition to their individual practice
• Represent the firm at networking events, local community activities, and participating in industry associations.
• Identify opportunities to generate new business and expand revenue through client referrals and cross-selling firm services.
• Manage practice effectively by meeting billing, realization, days outstanding and individual charge hour objectives
• Ensure compliance and quality control standards are met
• Additional responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field
• CPA license
• 10+ years' experience in public accounting (tax or audit)
• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative and inclusive culture.
• Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance in the context of public accounting
• Excellent communication and business development acumen with proven success managing client relationships and driving revenue growth

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• 8 years of experience in public accounting or related field
• 6 years of supervisory experience
• Must have active CPA or equivalent certification
