Job Description

We are currently looking for a Director, Platform Innovation to join our team! This position will report directly to our Vice President, Product & Platform Implementation.

You will play a critical role in revolutionizing the organization's telecommunications operations and network management systems. In this position, you will be a visionary and results-driven professional who can oversee and develop efficient cross functional system stacks that carter to our customers needs and business outcomes.

As a Director, Platform Innovation, your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing and Innovating Mass Market, Enterprise, and Wholesale System Stacks
  • Develop a scalable and robust cross-domain system stack that caters to Mass Markets (MM), Enterprise, and Wholesale (E&W) customers' needs and business outcomes
  • Define digital transformation and enable operational efficiencies, through key analytics, enhancing product and service delivery, customer experiences
  • Create cohesive cross domain MM and E&W operational system support (OSS) and business system support (BSS) stacks that allow a seamless experience and internal cost efficiencies while maximizing system platform, network capabilities and customer experiences
  • Drive digital experiences, automated service order fulfillment, orchestration and activation including self-help incorporating AI solutions
  • Provide E2E lifecycle ownership from ideation to implementation collaborating with Product, Network and IT development teams to design, develop, test, and implement new innovations and applications
  • Interact with stakeholders to identify needs, opportunities, and gaps
  • Manages domain JIRA requirements including Product Owner partnership, user story oversight and management, PI planning participation, and completion tracking
  • Ensure high availability, security, and performance of the system stack
  • Enable Tier I & 2 support and provide Tier 3 & 4 support for the MM and E&W technical domains (systems & applications) supporting network engineers, front line agents and field technicians
  • Collaborate to establish a network management framework to optimize the performance and reliability of backhaul and infrastructure networks
  • Strategic Planning and Execution
  • Drive successful execution of transformation initiatives and projects and ensuring on time completion and within budget
  • Partner to conduct companywide Operational Readiness Production Testing in collaboration with Go / No Go facilitation
  • Drive long-term modernization and technical advancement planning for digital transformation programs
  • Define long-term goals and objectives for the department in alignment with the company's overall vision and mission
  • Drive successful execution of projects in alignment with strategic Long Range Plan
  • Owns, manages, and communicates domain platform status, financials, and KPIs for Mass Markets, Enterprise and Wholesale. Collaborates with business partners to ensure:
  • Develop business cases with cost/ benefit analysis for continuous funding and prioritization
  • Solutions are properly architected, comply with acceptance criteria, meet security requirements and reviews, and align with project objectives
  • Documentation is consistent, clear and properly retained
  • Required level of documentation and communication is available for all audiences
  • Leverage and standardize an agile methodology to drive the enablement and use the business KPIs to execute iterative constant improvement
  • Formulate strategic plans to meet business needs and address industry trends and challenges

Leadership and Team Management

  • Provide strong leadership to the team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work culture
  • Build and manage a team of resources that will enhance & support internal and external clients via a suite of projects and programs at Brightspeed
  • Lead a team managers, and subject matter experts that interface with cross functional teams
  • Mentor and develop team members, encouraging professional growth and enhancing their skillsets
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
  • Demonstrate exceptional presentation, interpersonal, relationship development, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to present at the most senior level of the business
  • Partners with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain denitions and ensure consistent use of standardized metrics and KPIs across the company

Vendor Management

  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to procure necessary technologies and services
  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements to ensure optimal value and quality
Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • 11+ years proven experience in leading network transformation projects in the telecommunications industry
  • 9+ years of strong technical experience, preferably in telecommunications, specifically product development, solution implementation or IT
  • Experience with defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions
  • Proficiency in using customer requirements and feedback to help design customized solutions
  • Enjoy simplifying and reinventing systems and experiences, have a solid strategic vision, and can identify friction points and implement innovative solutions
  • Ability to use judgment based on the analysis of information
  • Experience maintaining responsibility for the delivery of end results and contribution to planning, finances/budget, and policy development
  • Ability to negotiate internally and externally at high levels
  • Understanding of network and IT to ensure the solution can be efficiently supported in a manner consistent with industry norms
  • A strong systems development orientation to support inventory, provisioning, billing, etc. to ensure the solution is efficient and effective, thus promising a ROI to the end user client
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully implementing large-scale projects
  • In-depth knowledge of telecommunications technologies, network infrastructure, and backhaul systems
  • Strong Confluence, JIRA and sprint capacity management capabilities
  • Passionate about leading people, driving change, and focused on innovating systems and support through collaboration
  • Strategic thinker with a business-oriented approach to technology solutions
