Job Description

Valet Living Doorstep is the standard-setting waste and recycling collection amenity that adds value and convenience to more than 1.8 million apartment homes across 40 states.


As a District Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional service delivery across a portfolio of 20 - 30+ apartment communities. You will be responsible for overseeing and directing a team of 15-30+ dedicated associates, known as Service Valets, within your assigned district. In this role, you will demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the service experience. You'll model, train and coach expectations to deliver the service standard.


Salary range: $50K-$55K
Bonus: target bonus is 10% of annual salary (divided and paid out quarterly)
Company vehicle provided

Schedule: Flexible. This position requires willingness to work a variable schedule which could include hours in the morning/early afternoon and evening, depending on current business needs

Work environment: You will work from both a home office and in-field (community properties), as necessary

Essential duties:

  • Drive service excellence by ensuring daily and nightly completion of resident doorstep trash/recycle/compost pick-up for assigned communities
  • Create a scheduling plan in partnership with your Operations Manager based off monthly and weekly trash workload
  • Comply with, promote, and train Service Valets on collection policies and procedures
  • Drive system (iValet) compliance through consistent communication, training, and development of all Service Valets
  • Plan and manage the collection process by fully utilizing the tools provided to ensure budget targets are achieved and client requirements are met
  • Track nightly performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and contribute to service transformation and business growth by recommending productivity improvements
  • Increase Service Valet retention through promoting a sense of associate belonging and ensuring a high level of engagement
  • Provide on-call support to Service Valets and assigned communities
  • Report safety incidents in a thorough and timely manner
  • Regularly complete community checks to ensure quality standards are maintained
  • Address associate development needs and facilitate appropriate coaching or training opportunities
  • Attend team meetings virtually, in person, or off-site when needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Proven track record in building and leading successful teams
  • Strong analytical skills with experience working with spreadsheets and data analysis
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Solid understanding of basic employment law, customer service principles, and leadership/management concepts
  • Demonstrates unwavering work ethic, integrity, and a strong sense of accountability
  • Ability to effectively manage stress and adapt to a changing work environment
  • Demonstrates exceptional verbal and written communication skills, fostering effective and engaging interactions with individuals
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective teams, while holding oneself and others accountable
  • Excellent task prioritization skills, with the ability to organize and manage workload based on clients' needs

Physical Requirements and Special Conditions of Employment:

  • This position requires that you can lift and/or carry up to 50lbs, walk distances including up and down stairs, bend at waist and/or knees and lift arms at/over shoulders
  • Ability to occasionally work outdoors and work/drive in changing weather conditions
  • Ability to be exposed to disagreeable odors
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle in a manner consistent with local and state rules and regulations and company policy
